Alyssa and I drove from St. George to Layton and back again in less than 24 hours. We're die-hards.
We gifted MLM many treasures.
Such as:
A basket of 'MLM" eye candy... (Big Hunk candy bars taped with pictures of some of our favorite characters in her books)
On top is a picture of Tim Tebow representing Scott Pendelton in Love Me.
One fabulous perk of the whole experience was meeting the Boise girls, Kristy, Briana & Jen.
(Alyssa, Kristy, Jen, Briana, me)
Not only were they eating Cafe Rio (instant kindred spirits) but they gave us an enthusiastic recommendation for ANOTHER author that may be of the same caliber.
Ok, so that's only one thought. But that's all that came to mind. ( ;
I hope you realize, I really am in jest. It's really not so bad after you get every kid over 2 in their own separate time outs... things are quite peaceful. ( ;
To battle this sleepless, 3 kids under 5 BLISS, James and I have become re-obsessed with my favorite all time author... Marcia Lynn McClure. I don't think I could tell this woman enough how much I enjoy her books. With postpartum hormones a-blazin', I am awash in love and sorrow. When Lochlan (from "The Highwayman of Tanglewood") yells "Faris, you promised" with a tear seeping down his temple... I cried. And so did James (but I think he was just hungry). A highly unstable endocrine system makes for a very euphoric romance novel (clean and appropriate) experience. (insert 'sigh' here). And this shall be my never-last plug for MLM. Everyone go buy her books so that she becomes a best-seller and so that Hallmark will make movies out of all her books and so that they can star Gerard Butler.And I've therefore found myself on a quest to put together a list of (in my humble opinion) the best ever love songs, stories, and stills OF ALL TIME! Ok, maybe not all time but... just my favorites.
Beginning with this...Uh huh! Yep!
And this... (the song, not the video)
Uh... ya! Really the only lyrics in that song that register in my brain is "Why don't we go somewhere only we know!" Um... LOVELY!
And finally THIS (sorry, I have so posted this before) start at 1:44
"Well, if you must leave me... you must!"
This is my other favorite scene... (this is a purely indulgent post if you haven't noticed)
First of all, I'd like to say how cool I am for posting 4 posts today.
And now to the subject at hand...
It has been confirmed that Marcia Lynn McClure books are totally and utterly fabulous. Confirmed by my friend, Lauren, in none other than Gainesville, FL who took the plunge and ordered one from inter-library loan. She started reading it at midnight and next thing she knew it was 6am. I am so proud of her. This may be the beginning of a Florida sweep... meaning, watch out SE, the McClure men are coming. ( :
I was starting to wonder. I thought, "If these books are so fabulous, why are they not more popular or available in more libraries?" I don't know but I do know that if you can get your hands on one... just try it. You may never look back.
Currently and anxiously waiting for "The Time of Aspen Falls" (her new book just released). In the mail as we speak.
My very most absolutely favorite ever thing to do these days is to sit on the couch in the living room... in the evening... with the Christmas lights a twinkling... and Christmas music lightly playing in the background... reading a perfectly romantic Christmas love story. Ah, dream come true. The only thing I'm missing is a cute little fireplace to warm my toes. I mean, seriously, it's like 50 degrees here. Burrrrr. ($399 Costco.com)Which has bought me to my next conclusion...
The living room upstairs absolutely CANNOT be the TV room. I have had it with TV. I have become quite disillusioned as of late. Even 'The Office' makes me want to puke after having wasted a whole 1/2 hour on it (I don't know what's gotten into me). I just feel it doesn't compare to the ambiance and magic of being lost in a book where the world is pretty much what you create (aside from the basic story). All the little details are to your minute specifications - however your mind wants to see them. It's a wonderful little escape from this MISERABLE MISERABLE world (that's from a Joseph Smith quote that I can't stop repeating. I think that makes me cool that it's pretty much MY OWN inside joke.)
And this has become my plan of action... a secret priority of mine, if you will. To make the downstairs nice enough (add curtains, a nice comfy couch... ya know, put a little twinkle in the atmosphere) so that it will be a place you'd want to hang out. THEN I'd move this BIG HUNKER of a TV down there and any and all football, PS3, 'the Office', etc. will be watched down there and the upstairs will become a sanctuary of domesticality, peace, and harmony. In other words, I will usurp it as my own. The only activities allowed will be culinary arts, reading, humming, intelligent conversation, and harmonious peace and love. It will be the 'Ladies retreat' and downstairs can be 'The ManCave'.
Pssssst! BTW, I just read 'Kissing Cousins'. An e-book by Marcia Lynn McClure and I was absolutely TICKLED PINK the entire time. It's a short 127 page romance... clean... and perfect. Only available online for $8.95 here.
SOMEONE (Alyssa) introduced me to a book by the name of Shackles of Honor by Marcia Lynn McClure. That was 5 weeks ago. Since then I have read every Marcia Lynn McClure book in print. (that would be 15 total... in 5 weeks). Let's just say... I enjoyed them very much. I ravished them, if you will. We're pretending we're laying in a meadow in this picture... Macia Lynn McClure is a member of the Clean Romance Club. Can we not just get wholesome, clean, ooey gooey, slobbery kissy, "he touched my ankle (gasp)" romance? Quite so. They do exist...
